Save Fair Oaks Ranch (SFOR) has endorsed Garry Manitzas for Mayor because he will uphold the city's mission statement and keep Fair Oaks Ranch the unique place that brought you here to live.
As you may recall, two years ago SFOR was formed by ten residents, including Garry Manitzas in a last minute attempt to stop The Reserve, a north-side development 10x more dense than allowed in the city's Comprehensive Plan. We were concerned it was too late because, with no discussion or consideration of your opinions, Mayor Landman had persuaded the Council to sign a 20-year contract with The Reserve developer and to accept a petition by the landowner/developer to be considered for annexation into the City. But, thanks to more than 2,000 of YOU, our fellow Fair Oaks Ranch residents, who signed the NO ANNEXATION petition, the final annexation vote was unanimously defeated and so far, The Reserve is being held at bay.
One year ago, an overwhelming majority of you elected Garry Manitzas and Steve Hartpence to the City Council where they joined forces with Alderwoman MaryAnne Havard who had joined the Council a year earlier. Together, they transformed a passive Council into an engaged government body that has acted quickly on a number of issues that Mayor Landman has ignored for years. Just to name a few, they:
- negotiated an interlocal agreement with Kendall County
- fully engaged residents in Council discussions
- used our City's power to negotiate agreements favorable to the City rather than to developers
- brought discipline and tough questions to the budget process
Most importantly, they have begun the process to make Fair Oaks Ranch a Home Rule City that will finally give us control of our extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) through zoning.
You may view how Garry's views on zoning contrast with the current Mayor's by visiting www.electgarry.com and click on Zoning at the bottom of the home page. For more information on zoning by Texas Municipal League go to http://www.tml.org/search?q=zoning
Now, you can finish the job by using your vote to join SFOR in endorsing Garry Manitzas for Mayor of Fair Oaks Ranch. If you do, you will have a Mayor and Council that will protect the character and quality of our city by responsible growth management.

SFOR supports Alderwoman Havard, Roy Elizondo
SFOR is glad to see Alderwoman MaryAnne Havard returning to Council as an unopposed candidate. We are also very pleased that Roy Elizondo, who is running unopposed for the position being vacated by retiring Alderman Glenn Damstra, will be joining the Council. Roy has very strong financial skills and will be a leader in ensuring that the City makes sound financial choices.
SFOR would also like to recognize and thank Alderman Damstra for his service to the community. In the early days of SFOR, Glenn was quite gracious in helping us understand the complex history of previous council decisions.
Please take action again and VOTE early April 25th - May 3rd at City Hall. Election Day is May 7th!
